Rating This is a wonderful book to look at , it is divided to sections by years , each section contain material from those years : informative text , celluloid production shots , drafts and layouts , sketches , character design cards , back grounds and movie posters all are very interesting to look at .
The character design cards are plenty and show the characters from different angels with educating remarks by the artists and designers for the animators . The backgrounds ( like the one below ) are spectacular but unfortunately scarce and I would have liked to see more , along are also sequential shots of movement and old promotional movie posters which make a nice addition .
This coffee table book is producedat best quality , hard cover, glossy thick paper and top notch printing , the design and layout is very clean and expensive looking . Each section starts with a blank page stating the year in white over solid black , a big "space waster" but very impressive , some pages which act as dividers contain nothing but a single image . Included are introductions by William Hanna and Chuck Jones ( which I like for there work on "Tom & Jerry" ) and Text Avery MGM filmography .
