Ability to draw hands good is often the sign that tell if the artist is good or not . Hands ( and feet ) are difficult to draw well and to look reliable . So is the effect of a bad hand illustration on the final figure that some amateur artists try to hide them , draw fists or use just about any other trick in the book just that they won't have to face the task . Ofcourse this is NOT a good solution , in fact hand are one of the most important parts in the human anatomy and are very expressive ( i.e. delivering the figure emotions ) so it is vital to draw them well . This book does an excellent job in teaching you that , other drawing anatomy books by Hogarth have also good hands section but since "Drawing Dynamic Hands" deals only with that subject it can focus more with extra tips , pointers and tutorials .
