About Scam Sites |
| I take much pride in keeping unrealx a "clean" site without any dirty tricks yet I'm also frustrated to see the huge amounts of traffic made by other webmasters which do nothing productive and use whatever cheap scam they can think of to get traffic and money on the expense of the surfers . I never use those tricks and won't list any site using them as well . THE BANNER FARM Yep , that's your typical page with banners on top , 3 crappy images in the middle and then 5 more banners .. just in case you didn't "notice" the first twenty . THE FAKE THUMBNAIL An alluring thumbnail which actually links to a sponsor site or a toplist .. the next generation development of the "Click here for free porn" link . THE FAKE BROWSER MESSAGE Launching a fake explorer message saying something like " This is an adult site click YES to ENTER " .. When actually you just unknowingly agreed to bookmark the site , change your homepage or sell your grandmother . THE POPUP HELL Sites scripted to open many windows at once , you close one .. two more pop up instead . WINDOW HIJACKING Wise ass webmasters that script the site to alter the brwoser toolbar or convert to full screen so suddenly you can't go back easily or find your favorites button .. What do they think ? that you'll give up and say "OK , OK I'LL SIGN UP" . Just click real fast ALT+F4 until you can see the desktop . THE TOP LIST Abused tool that other wise could have been a great source of links , vote for a good site will rank it higher on the list and let others know about it . Only problem is that some webmasters figured "Hey , we don't really need to have a good site , we can just trick surfers to vote for us " .. The result is that more then often the top sites are actually the wrost . THE CIRCLE JERK Dirties trick of all for milking the surefers without giving them anything in return , how ? The webmaster builds a site with NO CONTENTS just links . Those links are either going to one of their trading partners to exchange for another couple of surefers or to a sponsor pay site . Their linking partners sites are of the same type so the surfer is being jerked from site to site clicking misleading links . The main idea is never give the surfer real content , if he looks for it then he has no purpose to the webmaster that "directs" him out using fake images links that lead to his trading partner site which will do the same .. IF THE SURFER DOESN'T CLICK MY BANNERS WHY DO I NEED HIM FOR ? THE WEB PIRATE Oh , he will use any trick you've seen listed here and more , but to top it all he will do it with someone else art .
